Hybrid Work May Be Reducing Daily Movement
The shift toward hybrid and remote work is reshaping how people accumulate daily physical activity. Recent research suggests individuals take significantly fewer steps on days they work from home compared with days spent commuting to an office environment.
Without the built-in movement associated with commuting, walking between meetings or navigating large workplaces, daily step counts may decline. Trainers working with remote professionals may need to help clients intentionally design movement breaks and structured activity into their schedules.
