Suited Up and Ready for the 2019 Event Lineup!
Have you been to an IDEA event lately? Whether you’ve attended IDEA® Personal Trainer Institute East or South or the “Super Bowl” of Fitness & Nutrition—the IDEA® World Convention—you know it’s an awesome experience with no detail overlooked. This team begins planning next year’s event almost the minute they finish the current one. For IDEA World, with so many special experiences within the main event—and such a huge education program—it’s the only way to get it all done. The countdown clock is always on, and so are they!
“The mission of IDEA events is to provide attendees with the most inspiring and transformational education, experiences and opportunities. We want them to leave with a sense of clarity and empowerment that will allow them to change the world in ways that are meaningful and important to them and all those they inspire,” says Kellie Kaseburg, senior director of IDEA Events. “We lead from the heart and pour so much love into every aspect of our events.”

Inspired Service . . . and a RARE Promise
From running the busy call center at the IDEA campus in our San Diego headquarters to managing their hectic event-registration responsibilities, IDEA’s Inspired Service Team puts the company’s best foot forward every single day. These gents field about 600 calls a week from IDEA members; in the past 3 years, they have resolved 33,000 customer emails! They also make your event registration and check-in processes hassle-free. Have a question about insurance? Call them. Want to renew your membership? Pick up the phone or drop them an email. Looking for a back issue of Fitness Journal? They can probably source one for you. Or you could just call to say hello: 1-800-999-4332, ext. 7!
Membership director Marco Velasco emphasizes that his team’s first priority is to deliver the best service possible to all members. “We are fully committed to making every experience with us the best it can be. We recognize that a reputation for excellence must be earned every day; therefore, we have created and implemented an Inspired Service Promise (RARE):

The Future’s So Bright They Have to Wear Shades!
If you love getting great deals at our IDEA World Fitness & Nutrition Expo or learning about new products and services that will improve your clients’ lives, then give props to this hardworking group. The IDEA BATs excel in connecting clients from the branding side of the house to IDEA’s members and event attendees, thanks to an astute knowledge of what brands offer and what our end users need to make it easier and more profitable to do business. The BATs consult and advise our marketing clients on how to position themselves so you get access to the products and discounts that make your work as a fitness pro a pleasure. And, of course, our finance team gets the bills paid and keeps the books balanced so the lights stay on.
“I can’t say enough good things about both of these teams,” says IDEA’s general manager, Kim Paulsen. “The BATs are smart, persistent, open-minded and a huge asset in introducing products and product knowledge to fit pros, who then successfully implement those products at the club and studio level with clients. BATs help close the loop and are natural connectors. Our finance team works tirelessly to keep us on track and in the black!”

IDEA’s Angels
Once upon a time there were three very different professionals who took very different career paths, but now it turns out they have three things in common: They’re brilliant, they’re hard working, and they all work for IDEA. Fourteen years ago, IDEA had a total of 10 educational products in its line. Today? There are about 1,600, each one painstakingly planned and packaged by this team of experts to make your learning process a breeze. If your certification is coming up for renewal, look no further than www.ideafit.com to find a course or a bundle of courses (print, video or live) to get you over the finish line with a new set of skills or a specialty certificate under your belt.
“This is the most phenomenal team,” says educational products director Magali Sparks. “They are not only truly dedicated to their work; they’re fully committed to the mission of inspiring the world to fitness. I feel very fortunate to be surrounded by such smart and talented people.”

It’s All Thumbs Up and Emoji Madness!
The digital marketing team is focused on creating genuine value for fitness pros through relevant career-building education delivered via email, video, social media and our website, www.ideafit.com. These professionals are IDEA’s execution core—aligning company objectives with members’ needs.
“Every person on this team is a talented, creative strategist who is thinking on behalf of our fitness professionals. Sometimes we get a little emoji crazy, but mostly we are focused and serious about delivering what you want when you want it,” says director Katia Milanova.

Red Lining, No Whining . . . IDEA’s Extraordinary Publications Team!
When you search for content on www.ideafit.com, every article you see—every click you make on IDEA’s 16,000 original articles—can be traced back to this dedicated team. As the Gold Standard bearers for IDEA, the editors and our design leader (responsible for all of that beautiful artwork that sets us apart from traditional, boring trade journals) aim to ensure that you get value from every piece you read in every one of our publications. Each article is painstakingly researched, shepherded through the writing process in collaboration with the author, and then edited, fact checked, copyedited, designed, proofed, and proofed again—and again!—until we feel it’s ready for your reading and learning pleasure. We aim to surprise and delight you with each turn of the page. We obsess over the quality of the work because we know it will help you to excel in your career and Inspire the World to Fitness®!
“It continues to be a privilege to build IDEA’s content trove as the pre-eminent source of health, fitness, nutrition, business and behavior change resources anywhere on the planet,” says Sandy Todd Webster, editor in chief. “We love the work—and we love IDEA members—which makes our deadline-driven process worth it every time a new issue comes out. To know we make a difference for professionals on the front lines—who impact the lives of others—is all the reward we need.&rduo;
