The Rise of Orange Corn

Researchers infuse corn kernels with more carotenoids.

In partnership with Purdue University, American company NutraMaize LLC is forging ahead with plans to increase the commercialization of their orange corn in the United States.

This non-GMO variety of corn is richer in healthful carotenoid antioxidants than the traditional yellow version. Considering that corn is the largest staple crop in America, making it more nutritious could benefit the nation’s diets overall.
