Osteo Impact is “a truly valuable class,” according to the McLean, Virginia–based McLean Racquet and Health Club’s online schedule. This low-impact class features strength training and stability/balance challenges that target “an increase in bone density.”

The Student Recreation and Wellness Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, encourages members to “try something new and exciting” with Cardio Cabaret. This class “combines sensual dance and rhythmic cardio in a workout for the whole body,” according to the online description. Low-impact dance moves “work the body’s major muscle groups and build endurance.” No previous dance experience is required and beginners are welcome.

The same facility also takes full advantage of its pool by offering Aqua Stretch, a fee-based class designed to help “reduce chronic pain and restore flexibility lost from both new and old injuries.”

On the Road Again, one of many classes on the schedule at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, takes indoor cycling outdoors with visualization and motivational cycling techniques that “increase your cardiovascular endurance with energizing music and fun athletic drills.”

Cheetah Gym members in Chicago are sweating to the latest chart-topping tunes in the “fiercely fun dance fitness class” called WERQ (pronounced “work”). Based on pop, rock and hip-hop songs and easy, high-energy dance steps, WERQ is for “dancers and nondancers alike.” “The warm-up previews some of the dance steps and the cool-down uses yoga-inspired static stretching,” says co-creator Haley Stone who dreamed up the concept with friend Julie Steffen.

The Langham Creek Family YMCA in Houston, Texas, keeps the fun going after the sun goes down with Night Club Cardio-NCC®. This nightlife-themed class features low lights and “simple yet effective” dance moves. According to the online description, “somewhere between the music and the Soul-train line you begin to forget you are working out.”

FUNIQ mixes fabulous music with an all-in-one workout that combines cardio, strengthening and flexibility into a “power-packed hour and a half.” Offered by the JCC of Greater Orlando, Florida, this fusion class includes dance, kickboxing, Pilates, bands, weights, and more.

Johnson State College in Johnson, Vermont, lets participants decide if they need more challenge with 40/20 Brick. According to the online description, “the brick classes are designed for those looking for an added challenge of stacking one workout on top of the other.” Participants always have the option of choosing one section only, if desired.
