2018 IDEA® World Scholarship Recipients

In partnership with ACE, IDEA co-founders Kathie and Peter Davis have established the IDEA World Scholarship Fund, which provides selected recipients with a registration for the event as well as financial assistance for related travel expenses.

“We started the scholarship program because we wanted to support the exceptional work of health and fitness professionals who are making a difference in their communities,” explains Kathie Davis. “We decided to provide scholarships to attend the IDEA World Convention (all expenses paid) to five fitness professionals each year who are making substantial contributions to inspiring the world to fitness, have financial needs and have never been able to attend IDEA World.”

Scholarship recipients must be current IDEA members and possess a nationally recognized certification. They must also submit a short essay describing why they want to attend the event, how they contribute to fitness and why they require financial assistance.

Kathie Davis adds, “What we hope scholarship recipients will get from attending World is the opportunity to see the best presenters from around the world, to network with 14,000 like-minded fitness pros and [to receive] the inspiration to change their lives and, ultimately, the lives of their clients. Not to mention discovering all of the brands and latest products in the Fitness & Nutrition Expo.”

We’d like to congratulate this year’s recipients:

  • Christine Allen, Overland Park, Kansas
  • Tiffany Carolan, Kalaheo, Hawaii
  • Haley Lawrence, Carlsbad, California
  • Heidi Nates, Ormond Beach, Florida
  • Dan West, Forest, Virginia

The Davises would like to thank IDEA for donating the registrations and ACE for administering the program.
