It’s National Nutrition Month!
Leverage nutrition tools and resources to coach clients incrementally this month.
What are your plans for National Nutrition Month? I just came from Baltimore, where I spent a few days laughing and catching up with my oldest childhood friend and her family. She and I hiked, talked and cooked–a lot.
As a busy wife and mother of 4 super active kids ranging from 13 to their mid-20s, she expressed her challenge to maintain a healthy eating pattern for herself and her family. She knows what constitutes healthy eating, but she needed a fresh take on how to do it simply and sustainably, and tips on how to make it a bit more fun and exciting. Primarily, she wanted some ideas on how to work in more vegetables and variety in her cooking, but without complicating her life or demanding too much time. I turned her onto the concept of batch cooking and showed her how I do it at home. It felt so good to flex my nutrition coaching muscles to help this dear friend!
Sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the 2022 theme for National Nutrition Month is “Celebrate a World of Flavors.” Using a “small steps” coaching structure, the Academy is rolling out just a few tips to practice each week with information and resources to support. Consider dripping these out to your clients in a motivational text or personalized email each week to help them with their perennial nutrition challenges. As a bonus, you will engage your customers with helpful information, which not only demonstrates how much you care, it doubles as a proven retention tool.
You can also find loads of IDEA nutrition articles at www.ideafit.com. Throughout March, we will share more resources and a fabulous eBook collection of healthy recipes to continue supporting you for this month-long focus on food and nutrition. Also, check out our sister brands Clean Eating and Vegetarian Times for recipes and more amazing guidance.
That said, I hope you are staying positive and watching your clients flourish as we move closer to Spring. I’d love it if you dropped me a line to share what you’re excited about or challenged with these days. Write us at content@ideafit.com to tell us what you need. We’re here to help!
Thank you for all you do to inspire others to happier, healthier lives.
