As IDEA enters its 35th year, we have exciting news to share! Active Interest Media (AIM) has acquired IDEA Health & Fitness Association, an event that will propel us to even greater heights in the next 35 years and will ground our commitment to help you grow the industry and influence as many people as possible with the message of health, fitness and wellness.
AIM is one of the largest enthusiast media companies, producing consumer and trade events, websites, magazines, films and television shows that reach 40 million readers, viewers and attendees in 85 countries. AIM has a thriving fitness enthusiast niche that it reaches through consumer brands such as Oxygen, Clean Eating, Yoga Journal and Muscle and Performance. IDEA's award-winning publications, including the industry flagship, IDEA Fitness Journal, will continue to set the gold standard in the fitness industry.
The software and technology arm of IDEA (ClubConnect and CoursePlus) was not included in this transaction and will operate under a new brand, Inspire360, which will focus on helping health clubs and other fitness and wellness organizations achieve new levels with powerful educational platforms. Peter will remain as CEO of IDEA, where he will work with his team to oversee the integration of the two companies. Kathie will apply her many years of industry and executive experience to a new role as key adviser to IDEA. With AIM's resources and reach, IDEA will continue to Inspire the World to Fitness® in an even bigger way!
This is all great news for many reasons, and we're focused on a huge celebration in 2017. We cannot wait to mark the 35th anniversary with you in an unprecedented way at the IDEA® World Convention, July 19–23, in Las Vegas. This year's theme is Inspired35, and we'll be creating special parties, classes and events to celebrate this auspicious occasion.
