Friday Super Sets
Need inspiration? In case you missed it, here are some handpicked content links from IDEA's editor in chief for the week of January 23, 2022.

Happy Friday! Welcome to the first edition of โFriday Super Sets.โ Iโll be dropping in at the end of each week to get better acquainted with you and other IDEA Members, and to share notes and links regarding content you may have missed during your busy week. Each edition will be chock-full of information and links that I believe youโll enjoy.
I hope you have some fun activities lined up for the weekend. Me? After I do a functional ViPR workout session focused on variable deadlifts and deadshifts on Saturday morning, Iโm meeting a friend for coffee and catch up time, and then Iโll probably go to the Saturday Farmerโs Market in downtown San Diego to load up on fresh, organic fruit and veg for the week.
For those of you who know of my food and nutrition obsessions, it wonโt surprise you to hear that I will likely test-run some recipes this weekend. Here are a couple Iโm thinking about trying from Fitness Journalโs James Beard award-winning author Matthew Kadey, MS, RD: Orange Glazed Butternut Squash With Herbed Pecans seems like a great side to this Lemony Tilapia main dish. I will cap off all of this healthy deliciousness with this extra special Yogurt With Coffee Plum Sauce for dessert (I made the dish and shot the photo in the link!). What a comforting, energizing mid-winter dinner.
This will fuel me well for a local hiking adventure with my hub to Potato Chip Rock via the Mt. Woodson trail on Sunday. Which reminds me: Iโve been hearing that many of you and your clients have taken up hiking during the pandemic as an alternative to training and conditioning in the gym. Consider creating a hiking group among your clientele, setting a goal and training together. Itโs an amazing way to create community and support your retention efforts. Here are some solid training ideas on Preparing Clients for the Hiking Trail by Alicia Filley, MS, PT.
I just purchased my airfare for IDEA Personal Trainer Institute, Feb 25-27, in Alexandria, Virginia, and Iโm SO looking forward to seeing many of you at our first in-person event in 2 years! Yippee! There are many great sessions and presenters to choose fromโand still plenty of time to sign up. You can opt in for a pre-event intensive, come for the full weekend or just drop in for a day. If you plan to be onsite, please find me and introduce yourself! Iโd love to meet you.
In closing, please know Iโm excited about opening a dialogue with you to find out whatโs on your mind, understand your challenges, and celebrate your wins. Reach out to the content team at content@ideafit.com to tell us what you need. Weโre here to help!
Until next week, keep inspiring!
