  • Michelle Alencar, PhD

    Michelle Alencar, PhD, is an associate professor in kinesiology and also serves as co-founder and Chief Science Officer for inHealth Lifestyle Therapeutics, Inc. She is a certified clinical nutritionist, certified lifestyle therapeutics health coach, exercise physiologist and strength & conditioning specialist with a passion for mobile health and virtual lifestyle coaching. She has several research publications in the areas of health, mobile health, telemedicine and body composition.

  • John Bauer

    John Bauer has more than 20 years of experience in the fitness industry. He has worked as a personal trainer, health club manager, director of education, certification board member, college instructor and educator for several fitness companies. He currently serves as a content developer for ISSA contributing to its Certified Personal Trainer course along with specialization and continuing education courses.

  • Sam Berry, MS

    Sam Berry, MS, is an ACE master trainer and subject matter expert. He works with a wide range of clients and athletes ages 10–85 who are fulfilling a variety of goals and objectives. In addition, he conducts “train the trainer” courses for personal trainers across the United States. Berry received his master’s degree in exercise science from Florida International University and a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Keene State College.

  • Lee Burton, PhD

    Lee Burton, PhD, has an extensive background in sports medicine and strength and conditioning. He currently consults with a wide variety of professional sports organizations, as well as leading health and fitness facilities on injury prevention and performance enhancement. He lectures nationally and internationally on various topics in the fields of sports medicine and strength and conditioning. Lee is a certified athletic trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist and one of the founding owners of Functional Movement Systems.

  • Paul Cauldwell

    Paul Cauldwell has over 14 years of experience in human performance program leadership and has spoken at events all around the world. Prior to his current role as vice president of global education and business development programs at Theragun®, Paul was the director of performance at EXOS® for over a decade. There, he was responsible for creating and operationalizing performance programs for the Department of Defense, SOCOM, the military, Fortune 500 companies and elite-level athletes from the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and PGA.

  • Jacque Crockford, MS

    Jacque Crockford is an ACE-certified personal trainer and exercise physiology content manager at ACE. She has been a personal trainer and performance coach for more than 14 years. She grew up in the fitness industry, participating in YMCA sports and teaching gymnastics and swimming from a young age. She was on Kansas State University’s women’s rowing team and currently competes in triathlons throughout the country. Crockford has been featured in several publications, including LA Times, New York Post, Health, USA Triathlon, SHAPE and Women’s Health.

    Venus Davis is a corporate wellness coach and ACE-certified personal trainer who works with both large groups and individuals. At the Strong Academy in Washington, D.C., “Coach Ve” helps clients train the body and stabilize the mind by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to maintain their newfound strength.

  • Joe Drake, MS

    Joe Drake, MS, is an experienced educator, coach and entrepreneur with more than 15 years of industry experience. As the CEO of the Axiom Fitness Academy, a hands-on fitness education company in South Florida, Drake helps aspiring fitness professionals go from getting certified to finding success in a competitive industry. In addition to mentoring other trainers, he still sees clients and consults for industry brands like Technogym® and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology from Florida Atlantic University.

    Shannon Fable is a sought-after speaker, author and thought leader in the area of fitness business development and strategic innovation. She has spent more than two decades helping impressive brands such as Anytime Fitness, ACE, FIT4MOM® and BOSU® with business and program development. Fable served as chair of the ACE Board of Directors and is the co-founder of GroupEx PRO®, a cloud-based group fitness management tool that she successfully sold to Daxko in 2019. As a certified Book Yourself Solid® business coach, she helps fitness professionals navigate the industry to build scalable and sustainable careers.

  • Andrew Gavigan

    Andrew Gavigan is a recognized expert speaker in the fitness industry and master trainer. He serves as director of education for Aktiv® Solutions. He is a NASM- and NFPT-certified personal trainer and behavior change specialist, creator of the MostFit® line of fitness equipment, and has developed comprehensive fitness and wellness initiatives for health club and workplace wellness programs. His passion centers around user engagement and human behavior.

  • David Geslak

    David Geslak is a published author, writes autism and exercise research articles, and has a TV show, “Coach Dave,” on the Autism Channel. In collaboration with the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD), he created an autism exercise video series that now has more than 500,000 views. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in health promotion and is a certified exercise physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

  • Nico Gonzalez

    Nico Gonzalez is the studio owner of Fitness Physiques, creator of the online space 3 Minutes 2 B, and star of multiple fitness and mind-body videos. He is a master trainer for Balanced Body and BOSU, and is certified through ACE in personal training and group fitness, as well as the Pilates Method Alliance. Nico has been in the industry over 20 years, presenting at conferences such as IDEA World Convention, IDEA Personal Trainer Institute, Pilates On Tour, SCW Fitness, canfitpro, Fitnesslandia (Italy), World Class Fitness (Russia) and Pilates Chile.

  • Andy Hanley

    Andy Hanley, a coach, consultant and international speaker, owns and operates The Hive, a performance and health coaching facility in South Florida. He is a master instructor with NASM and has been working in the field since 2005. Andy has amassed worldwide experience having worked in Europe, Australia and the United States, spearheading the training regimes for hundreds of elite level athletes. Andy holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.

    Sue Hitzmann, MS, is the creator of the MELT Method®, nationally recognized educator, manual therapist and founding member of the Fascia Research Society. She is a presenter for IDEA, ECA and PMA, and a CEU provider for ACE, AFAA, NASM, PMA and NCBTMB. She has trained instructors from over 20 countries and is the author of the New York Times bestseller The MELT Method, which has been translated into eight languages, as well as the recent book, MELT Performance.

  • Hayley Hollander

    Hayley is an international coach, educator, and consultant. She is co-founder of Pivotal, a global development company empowering people to fulfill their greatest potential, the Co-Director of Education for Gray Institute, Precor Master Coach, and Power Plate Master Trainer. Hayley holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in mathematics. She is a GIFT fellow, a CAFS®, 3DMAPS and EXOS® performance specialist, and is PTA Global certified.

  • Tina Jaehnert, MFA

    Tina Jaehnert, MFA, began her career in upstate New York where she taught group fitness classes. After earning six certifications and a master’s degree in fine arts, she moved to the New York City area to grow in the industry. There her career grew rapidly, taking positions as assistant group fitness director at TMPL Gym, general manager, group fitness director and personal training director for OPTUM, and director of personal training for EXCEED Physical Culture.

  • Greg Johnson, MS

    Greg Johnson, MS, was a 2020 IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year finalist, is the owner of Varimax Fitness in Sacramento, California, head trainer of the Driven golf show on NBC Sports, and author and contributor to the field of fitness. Greg has worked with fitness and rehabilitation clients for more than 15 years. He holds a master’s degree in kinesiology with concentrations in performance enhancement and injury prevention.

  • Eliza Kingsford, MA

    Eliza Kingsford, MA, LPC, NCC, is a licensed psychotherapist and behavior change specialist who helps clients struggling with food addiction, body image and emotional eating. Eliza’s work has been featured on Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, NBC Health, CNN Health, Health magazine, Shape, MindBodyGreen and many more. She’s the author of Brain-Powered Weight Loss and has sat on scientific advisory boards with the leading researchers in the field of obesity and weight management.

  • Riley Kinworthy

    Riley Kinworthy is the director of talent success at Talent Hack, as well as the owner of five successful fitness studios in Las Vegas. As the former global athletic director of F45 Training, she created the onboarding and training systems for the global network of over 14,000 trainers in 52 countries and led the franchisee induction, which helped more than 600 studio owners open and operate successfully. Her background in market entry strategy and brand positioning, alongside her passion for driving successful company launches, helps support various Talent Hack initiatives designed to assist fitness creators with their businesses.

  • Christine Koth, MPT

    Christine Koth, MPT, is the bestselling author of the book Tight Hip, Twisted Core: The Key to Unresolved Pain, CEO/cofounder of Aletha Health™, and inventor of both the Hip Hook and the NUCKLE. With more than 20 years of clinical practice as a holistic physical therapist, her years of research into the iliacus muscle has led her to develop the Un:Tight Method, focused on reducing muscle tension in the primary and secondary cores.

  • Kara K. Lazauskas, MS

    Kara K. Lazauskas, MS, is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and has a master’s degree in molecular muscle exercise physiology with a background in sports performance. Kara trains multiple extreme sports athletes, military special operators and clientele around the world. Recently, she became a Titan on NBC’s The Titan Games with Dwayne Johnson.

  • Zachary Mang, PhD

    Zachary Mang, PhD, is a post-doctoral employee for the health and wellness program at the Los Alamos National Laboratory where he specializes in personal training for general population clients as well as strength and conditioning for structural firefighters. His research interests include resistance training for hypertrophy, oxidative adaptations to resistance training, and using resistance training as a frontline defense to prevent chronic diseases. 

  • Jessica Maurer

    Jessica H. Maurer is a fitness business consultant and strategist who has presented and consulted for many brands internationally. Jessica is the Senior Director of Instructor Development at FIT4MOM and is a consultant for well-known fitness companies such as Nathalie Lacombe, SCW and One Day to Wellness. Additionally, Jessica continues to offer consulting services to locally owned businesses and fitness professionals.

  • Sheldon McBee, MS

    Sheldon McBee, MS, has a master’s degree in human nutrition, is an ACE-certified personal trainer and has over 18 years of experience in health and fitness. He is an experienced international presenter, lecturer, business consultant, fitness content developer and training director. Sheldon is a passionate and dynamic presenter who has been featured in numerous fitness education and training videos, and is currently the personal training director for Universal Athletic Club based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

  • Dianne McCaughey, PhD

    Dianne McCaughey, PhD, is an award-winning international fitness specialist with more than 35 years of experience in personal training, group exercise, coaching and post-rehabilitation. She is a master trainer for ACE and the Functional Aging Institute. Receiving her PhD from Union Institute and University with a concentration in gerontology, McCaughey practices and teaches optimal wellness and successful aging emphasizing the mind, body and spirit.

  • Shalaine McLaughlin

    Shalaine McLaughlin has been a fitness instructor for over 11 years after a career in investment banking. She started with Zumba classes and now teaches multiple group exercise formats. She holds a BS from Cornell University and is currently working on her NASM CPT certification, a Masters in Exercise Science, and is writing a fitness book. Shalaine is a master instructor with Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), and has presented at FIBO USA, OPTIMA and Zumba conventions and cruises.

  • Alex McLean, MS

    Alex McLean, MS has been teaching group fitness since 1995. He started as a dancer and master class presenter for the Reebok Performance Team and Nike Culture Shock, and is currently an educator for multiple world-class brands, including Schwinn® Cycling, STRONG Nation™ and Balanced Body®. He has appeared in video and print projects for TRX® and Under Armour®, and as a professional dancer and acrobat. He danced with LeAnn Rimes, Disney, Universal Studios and the NBA/WNBA.   • Sherri McMillan, MSc

    Sherri McMillan, MSc, has been in the industry for 30 years, and has received numerous industry awards, including the 2010 canfitpro International Fitness Presenter of the Year, 2006 IDEA Fitness Director of the Year, 1998 IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year and 1998 canfitpro Fitness Presenter of the Year. She is an international fitness presenter, personal trainer, fitness columnist for various magazines and newspapers, author of five books and manuals, including Go For Fit: The Winning Way to Fat Loss, Fit Over Forty, and The Successful Trainers Guide to Marketing, and a featured presenter in various fitness DVDs.

  • Chris Nentarz, PT

    Chris Nentarz, PT, is a physical therapist, performance specialist and educator. He currently lives in Buffalo, New York, and is the director of an interdisciplinary wellness and rehabilitation clinic called THRIVE at D’Youville University. Specializing in movement science and sports orthopedic rehabilitation, Chris has over 20 years of experience working with athletes and patients of all levels. He is a sought-after speaker on topics related to sports medicine and human performance.

  • Evan Osar, DC

    Evan Osar, DC, is an internationally recognized speaker, author and expert on assessment, corrective exercise and functional movement. He is the author of Corrective Exercise Solutions to Common Hip and Shoulder Dysfunction and the Amazon #1 bestseller The Psoas Solution. He also developed a few of the industry’s most advanced training programs including the Integrative Movement Specialist™ Certification. Dr. Osar is a co-founder of the Integrative Movement Institute.

  • Michael Piercy, MS

    Michael Piercy, MS, is the owner of The LAB in Fairfield, New Jersey. He is the recipient of the 2017 IDEA Personal Trainer of the Year award and the 2013 TRX® FACEUP award for Overall Instructor of the Year. A former professional baseball player with the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Mets and Montreal Expos, he brings a unique perspective to his work with athletes and active adults. He holds a master’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in performance enhancement, and multiple advanced-level certifications from ACE, ACSM, NASM and NSCA.

  • Katrina Pilkington

    Katrina Pilkington is a certified personal trainer and fitness specialist, health and nutrition coach, group fitness instructor and wellness educator. She holds certificates in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and the University of South Florida. She also has an Associate of Science Degree in graphic design and is completing a graduate degree in Nutrition: Health Promotion. Katrina is also the senior manager of diversity, inclusion, and belonging at Barry’s Bootcamp where she bridges gaps of equity, diversity, and inclusion through education and coaching. Her goal is to lead her community by example and relatability to shift the wellness culture to be one of belonging and accessibility.

    Krista Popowych inspires fitness leaders, trainers and managers around the globe with her motivating sessions.     Joy Puleo, MA, is an education program manager for Balanced Body®, the world’s largest Pilates manufacturer, developing educational content and curricula for master trainers globally. Since 1996, Joy has practiced in the mindful movement modalities of Pilates and the GYROTONIC® Method. She has presented workshops and instructor training courses at numerous conferences and is a well-respected international educator.   • Leah Rich

    Leah Rich, Talent Hack’s talent strategist, brings more than a decade of experience in gym operations and instructor education to her sessions. She has managed and recruited group fitness teams at well-known gyms including VIDA™ Fitness and CycleBar®, which led to her current role at Talent Hack where she develops their robust job board to connect fit pros with top opportunities. Rich also has experience training new talent and has successfully taught ACE’s Group Fitness Instructor curriculum to aspiring fitness professionals across the country. She has a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and is a 200-hour yoga teacher.

  • Dane Robinson

    Dane Robinson, a native of Baltimore, is a certified personal trainer and performance enhancement specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. After spending more than 10 years leading venues from major health clubs to boutique studio startups, he now impacts hundreds of people in private and group training classes in Atlanta and thousands of people across the country as a fitness coach for Daily Burn’s show “Daily Burn 365″in New York City. He also serves as an on-demand trainer with Total Gym® as a part of its Total Gym TV series and can be routinely found as a Total Gym master coach on the QVC network.

  • Alana Sanders, PhD

    Alana Sanders, PhD, MBA, is a professor of business and marketing and the author of the first college textbook written on social media marketing, Marketing Through Social Media. She presents internationally on the topics of business startups, how to use social media for the fitness industry, starting an online business, choreography, cuing, dance fitness and more. Alana won the 2016 SCW Fitness Idol competition and is known to rock a crowd and turn any fitness event into a party. She has been featured on CNN, NBC, ABC and BET.

  • Jan Schroeder, PhD

    Jan Schroeder, PhD, is a professor and past chair of the department of kinesiology at Long Beach State University. She coordinates and teaches in the fitness and integrated training undergraduate program and has written 60+ articles on exercise physiology/fitness. She is also a certified group exercise instructor who teaches weekly in the private sector. Schroeder is the recipient of the 2021 IDEA Fitness Leader of the Year Award.

  • Jennifer Scott

    Jennifer Scott is a certified personal trainer with 12 years of in-club, private and group personal training experience. She has been a content developer with ISSA for nearly 2 years, has contributed to eight ISSA courses (including CPT, Glute Training and Exercise Recovery), and brings with her a love of all things nutrition, athletics and bodybuilding. She holds 11 certifications in everything from nutrition and weight loss to corrective exercise and behavior change. She currently also works as a private personal trainer, collegiate strength and conditioning coach, indoor and beach volleyball coach, club volleyball coach, and sports conditioning coach and competes as a nationally qualified NPC figure competitor.

  • Cody Sipe, PhD

    Cody Sipe, PhD, is a respected authority on fitness for older adults with 25 years in the industry. He is a professor, researcher, international educator and co-founder of the Functional Aging Institute. Cody is currently an associate professor and director of clinical research in the doctoral physical therapy program at Harding University. He was recognized as the 2005 IDEA Program Director of the Year and was a finalist for the 2019 IDEA China Fitness Innovator of the Year award.

  • Jesse Thomas, MS

    Jesse Thomas, MS, is a master trainer and national presenter for the Indoor Cycling Group (ICG®) and Life Fitness Academy with over 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. He creates and develops equipment- and product-specific fitness programming, fitness related educational content, presentations and training workshops. Jesse holds a master’s degree in kinesiology, a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and multiple certifications.

  • Helen Vanderburg

    Helen Vanderburg is owner of The ACADEMY fitness studio and teacher training school, the author of Fusion Workouts, and the fitness education manager for Balanced Body®. She is the 2005 IDEA Fitness Instructor of the Year and 2001 Canadian National Fitness Leadership recipient. Vanderburg is an elite athlete as a world champion synchronized swimmer and a member of the Canada and International Sports Hall of Fames.

  • Shana Verstegen

    Shana Verstegen is a TRX® and American Council on Exercise master instructor, a member of the Under Armour® training team and a six-time world champion lumberjack athlete. She holds a degree in kinesiology-exercise science, and is a certified personal trainer through ACE, NASM and NFPT. An energetic and personable speaker, she is also the national spokesperson for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.

  • Melissa Weigelt, MS

    Melissa Weigelt, MS is an ACE-certified group fitness instructor, NASM-certified personal trainer and vinyasa yoga instructor with 20 years of experience in the fitness industry. As an ACE- and AFAA-approved provider of continuing education for fitness instructors and a member of the BOSU® master trainer and development team, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and ideas with others.

    Leigh Wierichs, MS, MFA, is the global training and education manager for Life Fitness. She brings over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry and a wealth of expertise across a wide array of health and wellness areas to this role. Leigh has trained hundreds of group fitness instructors and personal trainers around the world. She holds a Master of Science degree in kinesiology, a Master of Fine Arts in dance, a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and multiple fitness certifications, including group fitness instructor and personal trainer.

  • Kia Williams, MS

    Kia Williams, MS, 200hr RYT is a global presenter, host of Fit and Fierce on the Mic podcast and freelance Group Fitness Content Creator. She currently serves as the Wellness Chair for the NAACP Tarrant County Branch and Executive Board Member of Jeremiah 33:6, a not-for-profit holistic health education and preventative medicine corporation. Kia is a master educator for Barre above®, Balletone™, and Fluid Strength™, and has managed several fitness and wellness programs and facilities.
