Targeting Kids on the Go

by Diane Lofshult on Oct 01, 2005

In a brilliant bit of marketing, produce manufacturers are now offering a veritable cornucopia of healthy convenience products for today’s busy kids (and even busier parents). At a recent trade show in Chicago, several companies unveiled their new “fun” packs filled with freshly sliced fruits and veggies and carefully designed to appeal to children.

Be on the lookout for Sunkist’s Fun Fruits, available in half-cup serving packages plastered with pictures of kids. Also new to market shelves are Ready Pac’s 8-ounce “grab and go” cups filled with water-packed carrots and celery. Some genius marketer even came up with the idea of packaging carrot and celery sticks into containers specially sized to fit in your car’s cup holders!
