Women’s Health Advocacy

Do you know at least five of the most common women’s health issues?

Women's health advocacy

Do you ever find re-entry to work after a solid vacation to be challenging? Following seven heavenly days in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, I returned to IDEA on Monday feeling refreshed—but also dragging a little bit. What’s up with that? I think my senses were longing for the pastoral scenes, fresh air and buzziness of crush season up yonder in the wineries we visited. It took a week to clear the work decks and get back into flow, but I’m feeling pretty good about what I accomplished over the past few days. I hope your week was productive as well. Please tell me what you’ve been working on!

With the weekend (and a glass of vino) just a breath away, I’m excited to tell you about some great stuff the IDEA team was working on while I was away.

Toward Women’s Health Advocacy

In case you missed it the other day, we dropped you a smart list of women’s health challenges that tests your knowledge about the most common wellness issues women face today, along with resources that will expand your awareness about them. IDEA surveys have shown over the years that most of your customers are women in various stages of life who thrive on your educated guidance. You have a unique opportunity to create impact and advocate for these clients through your daily interactions. Do you know at least five of the most common women’s health issues? Jot them down and then compare your expertise to this helpful collection of facts to learn more. We also have a trove of women’s health articles on ideafit.com you may like, including this recent research review from Len Kravitz, PhD. â€Ż

Free Webinar for IDEA Members: Cancer and Aging

Nearly 10,000 Baby Boomers turn 65 each day. Did you know that 60% of all cancer cases occur in people 65 and older? Learn how you can serve a niche market and become the local oncology exercise expert by attending this IDEA webinar on Wednesday, October 26, hosted by Andrea Leonard, president and founder of the Cancer Exercise Training Institute.

You’ll discover how exercise can help prevent cancer, manage treatment side effects, expedite recovery and enhance survivorship. You’ll also gain an understanding of acute and chronic side effects and how exercise needs to be modified accordingly. If you can’t make the webinar, we invite you to register and we’ll send you the recording.

I hope you find these custom resources to be helpful and interesting. If these topics are not in your wheelhouse, I encourage you to search the IDEA website for any topic you want to learn more about. There are 15,000+ articles on the site created by the award-winning IDEA content team, many of them with CECs attached.
