USDA App Tracks Food & Activity

If you’re looking for another empowerment tool to help clients monitor progress and enhance their accountability, the USDA’s nutrition SuperTracker might be worth evaluating.

Though not new (launched in December 2011), it has several practical components that make it a potential recommendation. The free Web-based app has a food tracker, a physical activity tracker, a weight manager and a “Food-a-Pedia” containing about 9,000 common food items the USDA has analyzed and loaded into the system.

The SuperTracker can be personalized with goal set- ting, virtual tracking, weight tracking and journaling. Friends and family can also join and support each other. Learn more at https://www.super tracker.usda.gov/default.aspx.
