American Diets Are Less Healthy
By Sandy Todd Webster
Jan 15, 2014
Healthy eating patterns among Americans declined for all months in 2013, compared with 2012, according to a Gallup Poll reported by the organization on November 27, 2013.
The disappointing news continues:
- Healthy eating in June, July, August and September declined by at least three percentage points from the same months in 2012.
- Healthy eating was at its lowest point since 2008 in Gallup trends.
- Fewer Americans reported consuming the recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables at least 4 days per week, compared with 2012 (with the exceptions of March and October).
