Equity, Anti-Racism and Authentic Allyship in Fitness

On today’s episode, IDEA’s director of event programming Ryan Halvorson guest hosts and speaks with Katrina Pilkington, Ilya Parker and Dynasti Hunt about diversity, equity and inclusion in the fitness industry. While these are not new terms to most people, the conversation heated up considerably last year and catalyzed change across many businesses. Scores of fitness entrepreneurs and organizations were quick to address the issues. Some have been successful while others have had missteps. Our panel of three fit pros, who also are DEI experts, share their experiences of the past year. They also discuss common mistakes they’ve seen others make in their DEI efforts, and outline what everyone can do to create spaces where ALL people feel safe, welcomed and celebrated.
