Has anyone else with a profile on IDEA dealt with a credit card scam?
I was contacted today via text and had it happen via email once before. BEWARE! Apparently this scam is popular. The person contacts you via email or text. There written English is horrible they ask for a quote for services and never ask about the services you offer. They agree to an amount quoted for extended training and then ask for a favor. DO NOT FALL FOR IT.
Hi Shay,
thanks for the warning to everybody. I have not had that problem myself.

I don’t know whether my contact info came from this site or from my profile on another professional site, but I was contacted to do a series of semi-private classes for some expatriates who would want to use the gym where I worked. I forget from which country, but they wanted to pay it all up-front to manage the exchange rate. Then asked for my banking information. Um, no.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Hi Shay,
No – I’ve never experienced that but thanks for the heads up. I’m a little lost though – why is your credit card involved if they’re the ones looking to purchase services? I’m missing something here – what’s the scam?
