The menopause transition increases the risk of chronic disease in women as a result of accelerated bone loss (osteoporosis), intra-abdominal fat accumulation (heart disease, type 2 diabetes), and other consequences of the loss of ovarian estrogens. The session will include a discussion of whether exercise can be effective in attenuating these menopause-related changes followed by an interactive Q&A.
