Exercise is increasingly accepted as an adjunct treatment for Parkinson’s disease that is associated with slower declines in mobility and improved quality of life. Exercise professionals provide leadership, expertise, and programs to help people living with Parkinson’s achieve their goals and manage their Parkinson’s symptoms. This session seeks to educate exercise professionals and familiarize them with the Competencies for Exercise Professionals with the knowledge, skills, and abilities for training people with Parkinson’s. Utilizing the Parkinson’s Exercise Guidelines, you will actively be participating in a Parkinson’s focused exercise class to better understand the why behind the exercises that will directly impact your clients’ quality of life living with Parkinson’s.
