Eccentric Strength Training Controversies–Resolved!
Exercise Science geek-out with the amazing Len Kravitz, PhD!
IDEAfit PRO SHOW • Season 1, Episode 8
On today’s episode, IDEA’s Editor in Chief Sandy Webster and the amazing Dr. Len Kravitz have a fascinating discussion on two topics Len covered in the Research column for the award-winning Fitness Journal. First, they dive into a study that identified the top 5 resistance training workouts that improve VO2Max, which was covered in the March-April issue of the journal and which can be found here. Next, Len unravels new evidence surrounding the two-decade controversy surrounding eccentric training, which he wrote about in the May-June issue of Fitness Journal (to be published soon).
Dr. Kravitz is the program coordinator of exercise science and a researcher at the University of New Mexico, where he recently received the Presidential Award of Distinction and the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. He has served as a subject matter expert at IDEA events and as a prolific and perennial author of research and continuing education packages for IDEA Fitness Journal. He was a 2016 inductee to the National Fitness Hall of Fame. You can reach him by contacting him on his website.
