Welcome, thank you for this question. The multitude of gimmicks out there which the general public seems to fall victim to, by no means of their fault, is what motivates me to work in the health and fitness industry. It is my job to educate the public on the healthiest way for the individual to reach their goal and need. I never tire of going to a seminar and being told that I am more help to someone after the seminar than the speaker. The speakers are always very knowledgable, this is when I tell the person, this is what personal training is all about, we address your specific issue.

Wellness, and fitness as a component of that, is something that I have spent decades exploring. Those explorations have helped me to understand myself better, and I think, to find a way to be healthier and happier in mind and body. I feel that the gifts I have been offered I wish to share, and I have been fortunate enough to hear from those with whom I have worked feedback that what I have shared has been helpful. As long as I keep hearing that something I have to offer is helpful I will keep working in the field, and keep trying to gain new skills, insight and information.
Thank you for your question. I would suspect that someone with the curiosity to ask this question is probably someone who has quite a lot to offer their clients/students.
Many things drive my passion for a fitness career, and it’s evolved over time.
Right now, my passion is on keeping people active and helping them reduce stress and pain. I’m transitioning out of the higher intensity formats and into more recuperative, healing, restorative forms of fitness. I train all sorts of clients with all sorts of goals, but my deepest area of interest and value is in helping Baby Boomers gain or retain fitness levels to support their vibrant lifestyles.
Good insightful question…. I started teaching fitness classes around 25 years ago and loved watching my participants have fun and get healthy. But, when I started personal training, my passion grew even more because I could really see the results in my clients and the difference I was making in their individual lives. From weight loss to increased energy, less back pain, less stress, more confidence to coming off medications–exercise and healthy diet do so much and I love sharing this passion.
Seeing how exercise and health nutrition can make an impact on not only health, but wellness and quality of life gives me the drive to continue in this field.
