Personal Training and Massage
Hello all,
I’m a personal trainer (uncertified) and would like to gain more knowledge with regards to training in the state of Texas. Are there any requisites that I need to know of off hand (insurance, certifications, etc.) in order to be able to start working with clients either at their homes or at mine? This would be geared strictly towards Texas and their laws.
Also, could anyone recommend me to a great masseuse (massage) insurance company that would cover a freelance masseuse without any certification/studies in the U.S.?
I really appreciate any answers with regards to the above questions.
Con amor,
Eric Waldron
Hi Eric,
I believe you asked this question yesterday, but with respect to another state. Here are the answers you already received.

I’m not sure about the massage regulations in TX, but as far as PT goes it would be highly recommended if you had a certification and liability insurance. Without them you would be liable if anything goes wrong with any of your clients and if you are not certified you will not be able to get insurance (no matter who you work for).
Hello Eric Waldron, Jr.,
You can start by asking at your potential employer what they require. Here is a link of Texas trainers I found through the Fitness Connect tab. You may want to contact them personally if none of them respond to your question. You may also find help through www.score.org.
