What are some good choices for obtaining a health related Master’s Degree in which you can do online? Looking at anything doing with Movement/Exercise Science, Physiology, Health Promotion or other related fields. Anyone who has already graduated or has first hand experience would be extra helpful.
If you haven’t found yet an online degree, check United States Sports Academy. Their site is www.ussa.edu , they do offer online/distance Masters and PhD degrees.
I find this interesting as well. I plan on getting a masters in a few years after spending time off from school.
What have you looked into?
I get the feeling that a masters for personal training would be overkill. If you’re able to get a small clientele at a gym you can really price whatever you want, regardless of background. If you’re able to sell yourself the sky is the limit.
Perhaps using PT as a background for another degree like you mentioned.
I had the very wonderful experience of earning my Masters degree online at California Univerisity of Pennsylvania.
Many are of the impression that an online degree lacks quality. I can emphatically say that is not the case. Having had the opportunity to earn a degree in a traditional setting in New York as well as having attended university in Italy, I can honestly say that one will not come away disappointed if one decides to earn their masters degree online at California University of Pennsylvania.
Please know that earning a degree online requires a lot of dedication as you are basically married to your laptop. A lot of discipline is required as well. One must enjoy writing as that is the main form of communication. If you don’t like writing and have difficulty expressing yourself in words, I wouldn’t suggest it.
The professors at the CalU expect much from their online students. I can only say positive things regarding my experience at CalU.
By the way…
I was able to attend the graduation and the campus is absolutely beautiful. It was a true pleasure to meet all the professors who where instrumental to me earning my masters degree.
All the best to you.
