240 Artificial Intelligence: Intelligent Programming for the Client With Artificial Joints
with live Q&A
There are approximately 2.4 million hip and knee replacements in the U.S. each year. Total knee replacements account for 1.5 million procedures, with an average patient age of 67, while there are 930,000 hip replacements annually, with an average patient age of 66. The medical community supports physical activity for individuals who have completed rehabilitation after their joint replacement procedures and encourages continued exercise thereafter. This session will explore the common limitations faced by people with artificial joints and how fitness professionals can positively influence their clients’ journeys toward an active lifestyle. This course will also examine the biomechanics of the lower extremity, hip, and shoulder, along with the indications and contraindications for developing effective and efficient exercise programs for those with artificial knees, hips, and shoulders.
