Chronic tension and accumulated stress in the diaphragm can cause a loss of sensory awareness, leading to shoulder and pelvic instability. Explore the neurological core mechanisms and reflexes that inhibit movements of our diaphragm that are rarely considered or even recognized as the cause of both shoulder and pelvic pain. In this lecture, we’ll explore the inherent role the diaphragm plays in our postural, emotional, and physiological balance and stability and demonstrate simple techniques anyone, at any age, can embody to improve heart rate variability, vagal tone, and diaphragmatic strength.
