20More Reasons to Attend Summit WEST

Many of today’s seniors have been active throughout their lives and continue to be. Obviously age adds some limitations, but maybe not the limitations you think. Juan Carlos Santana, MEd, will delve into this topic at IDEA® Personal Trainer Summit WEST (June 29 to 30 in San Diego in conjunction with World Fitness IDEA®) in his session “Speed and Power Training for Active Seniors” on June 30 from 7:15 AM to 8:45 AM.

Santana believes that seniors need to develop speed and power to help them react to falls and safely participate in their hobbies. “Training seniors to ‘act their age’ is one thing that will make them old,” says Santana. “Power training for the senior population can be safe if proper precautions and common sense are exercised. I have been training my mature clients like my other athletes—no injuries and great improvements in function.”

Right after you attend Santana’s illuminating session, head over to hear keynote speaker Janet Lapp, PhD, and learn how to give your life “a positive spin.”

No one escapes change. Learn to embrace it, while staying
focused on goals and principles. Lapp delivers a powerful message: “Change is not a force to be feared, but an opportunity to be seized—and the choice
is yours.”

Lapp has been a registered nurse, professor and clinical psychologist and is the author of three books. She has addressed audiences of 20 to 8,000 people, the world over.
