Our clients are becoming more conscious about their dietary health and increasingly aware of, and interested in, plant-based eating. While there is no single uniform definition of plant-based eating, we will take an evidence-based look at what this approach really means, its benefits and how it can be incorporated into a healthy, active lifestyle. This session will address key features of plant-based eating, provide current information about the growing trend, tackle myths and misperceptions, and report the latest research on plant-based eating patterns and its impact on common areas of concern for your clients: weight management, heart health, healthy aging, inflammation and performance. Finally, we will translate the science to the table providing easy strategies, tips and menu ideas that will support your clients in their healthy behaviors and goals within sound guidelines as fitness professionals.
