I discovered the life changing benefits of fitness in my mid twenties. I had been active since childhood, but became sedentary and gained weight as an early adult. I experimented with different types of exercise for short periods of time, but had trouble knowing exactly what to do. I had the desire to get back in shape, but lacked the knowledge one must possess to achieve lasting results. In 2006 I joined a fitness center in the building at which I worked. I wanted to use the facility but realized I didn't know much about exercise.
I started researching exercise on the internet, fitness magazines, and books. This is when my passion for exercise was first ignited. I spent years trying different training techniques, equipment and protocols. I got back in shape, and felt better in my thirties, than I had in the previous decade. Over the years I experienced everything that most people do with exercise. Success, excitement, plateau effect, boredom, overtraining syndrome, injuries, pride, confidence, personal growth and improved quality of life are some examples.
After spending time teaching friends and co-workers some of the things I had learned, I realized that I had a natural ability to help people get results. Teaching, motivating, inspiring and empowering people from different backgrounds was very natural to me. I decided to turn my passion into a career!
I learned even more than I imagined while studying the American Council on Exercise Personal Training certification program. The ACE program opened my mind to many different ideas. I studied hard, and passed the exam. I also became certified by the Red Cross for CPR/AED. Now, fast-forward to today. I'm using exercise and nutritional guidance to help people from different backgrounds improve their lives. I'm always eager to meet new clients, and help them improve their lives while achieving their fitness goals.
