I've been dancing since I was 3 years old and love learning about new forms of movement!
I did Martial Arts as a child/teen and ran V Track during High School.
I received my M.A. from Teachers College of Columbia University (New York City) in the Department of Biobehavioral Sciences, Program in Movement Science, Specialization in Applied Physiology. I was under the advisement of Dr. Carol Ewing Garber, the VP of The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
My undergrad thesis was on Physical Philosophy: Embodied Wellness from Bryn Mawr College.
My hometown is Raleigh, NC.
I founded the Zumba program for the Bryn Mawr College PE Department for students as well as faculty & staff in PA; founded the Zumba program at Penn Med in Radnor, PA; founded the Zumba, PiYo & Barre program at Teachers College for their Office of Student Activities in NYC; and initiated and began teaching the Zumba Gold classes at the Dodge Gym of Columbia University.
Besides Zumba, I am a certified PiYo (pilates-yoga fusion) instructor & a Barre (ballet, pilates, yoga) level I Instructor. I am certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid. I am an ACSM certified personal trainer. Also Exercise is Medicine Credential Level 1. I am a Mayo Clinic Certified Wellness Coach.
I am a Fitness Instructor; an Exercise Physiologist; a Wellness Coach; and an Eternal Student!
