The 17th IDEA Fitness Programs & Equipment Trends Report bears out that fitness professionals are becoming more specialized, yet more diverse, as the North American population ages and transforms its demographic markers. While there is a prominent personal training and group exercise presence, the report also found that half of the facilities surveyed are also offering mind-body activities.
Here are more stats from this year’s survey:
- Facilities offer mind-body programming as one-on-one training (11%), group training (42%) and both one-on-one training and group training (48%).
- Yoga (81%) and Pilates (74%) are the most commonly offered mind-body activities in IDEA member facilities.
- Fusion classes (77%) are trending well in mind-body activities.
Survey results are based on responses from 2,818 fitness professionals. Also included in the report are statistics on group fitness, personal training, equipment and facility trends.
