In support of improving physical activity levels, the United States Postal Service (USPS) recently unveiled a new series of forever stamps. The four stamps show a young child learning to ride a bike with training wheels, a commuter riding to work, a road racer and a BMX rider.
“Bicycling is a low-impact aerobic activity that just about everyone—from young children to retirees—can enjoy,” says Michael Amato, vice president of engineering systems for the USPS, in a press release. “Riding a bike lowers the risk of obesity, heart disease and breast cancer while improving muscle tone and strength. Whether riding along a lakeside path or through the bike lanes of a bustling city, bicycling is therapeutic and just plain fun.”
