“I love helping women learn how exercise can fit into their busy lives,” Jocelyn Martin, personal trainer and health coach says. Jocelyn works mainly with mothers and their children at Kadena Air Base. “As military spouses, we don’t always have an extra pair of hands around,” she says. “Getting a workout in and planning a meal has to get done with children in tow.” With this in mind, Jocelyn designs her sessions to fit real-life situations. She also stresses that proper nutrition and exercise can be good for her clients as well as their families.
Fitness has been a part of Jocelyn’s life for as long as she can remember. As a child she used to go to the gym with her dad where he lifted weights. He was the first one to give her tips on form and anatomy as they lifted weights together. “I guess you could say he taught me about the importance of proper form and staying active,” Jocelyn says.
Jocelyn loves a challenge and enjoys participating in triathlons and outdoor fitness classes. She also volunteers to run water and aid stations at local races.
