Fitness Fanchise Opportunities Growing

Faced with an unhealthy future, consumers are heeding warnings about their dangerous sedentary habits and seeking out advice. And if recent trends are any indication, there will be plenty of storefront fitness shops to help them. Fitness franchising is becoming big business in the United States, making Entrepreneur magazine’s franchise trend prediction list for the second year in a row.

Twenty-eight fitness franchises are included in Entrepreneur’s report, and that doesn’t include spas or medical spas (AKA medspas, which must be supervised by a licensed healthcare professional). The Fitness Franchise Information Center (www.fitness franchiseinfo.com) features information on more than 40 fitness franchises with many different specialties. To find out more about this industry trend, read “Franchising Your Fitness Business” on page 46.
