IDEA presenters Clare Dunphy and Naomi Aaronson have created a free online video for breast cancer survivors. Passionately Pink is presented in two parts: part one consists of Pilates chair exercises, and part two comprises Pilates mat exercises. “The video is geared to women 6–8 weeks postsurgery and beyond,” says Aaronson. “It is designed to promote lymphatic flow, stretch chest muscles, improve shoulder range of motion and strength, and foster improved posture.”
Working entirely on a volunteer basis, Dunphy and Aaronson focused on developing a safe, effective program. “Our goal is to demonstrate how Pilates can help integrate mind and body and promote wellness after . . . grueling surgery and treatment for breast cancer.” To view the video in its entirety, visit http://vimeo.com/10799754.
