Learning Objectives

  1. Describe small nerve plantar proprioceptors and how they are the gateway to perceiving impact forces during dynamic movement.
  2. Summarize the concept of foot-to-core stabilization via fascial lines.
  3. Explain the difference between reactive and anticipatory stabilization patterns and how to more effectively train the reflexive stabilization patterns in the body.
  4. Identify how to integrate foot-to-core sequencing exercises that can be integrated into any runner’s movement prep.
  5. Demonstrate the short foot activation exercise, used to tap into the reflexive stabilization pathway between the feet and core.
  6. Explain why impact forces are necessary to dynamic movement and how to work with, not against, repetitive impact forces.
