Make this year an active one with classes that fuse fun concepts.

Sports Club/LA in San Francisco members enjoy BLITZ™, a program that combines endurance, agility, core, strength and balance training. It provides customized one-on-one coaching in a group environment. The goal of the class, according to the website, is to “push yourself beyond your limits.”

Participants can now work out using animal-inspired moves with Stoked Primal™ at Reebok Sports Club in New York City. This conditioning class uses such moves as the “inchworm,” “gorilla push” and “mermaid” to help participants reach their fitness goals.

Booty Luv™, offered at ME Fitness Studios in Portland, Oregon, was designed to “bring a positive awareness to the hips, buttocks and thighs,” according to the class description on the website. This class combines functional training, ballet moves, kickboxing, Pilates, yoga and a bit of “dirty dancing.”

Mandel Jewish Community Center in Beachwood, Ohio, combines cycling and ballet barre into one class: Bike & Barre. During the first 30 minutes, participants use the bikes as a ballet barre to perform moves. This is followed by a 40-minute cycling class for double the workout.

Soul Brentwood in Los Angeles offers soulbands and other SoulCycle® classes. This 60-minute cycling class anchors resistance bands to sliding tracks above the bikes for an upper-body workout. All SoulCycle classes strive to incorporate strength training into the cycling workouts to give participants a full-body workout.

SurfSET™ Core at Crunch® Fitness in New York City offers the benefits of surfing using the RipSurfer X. Participants enjoy surfing-inspired movements, high-intensity cardio intervals and body weight strength training.

On Your Mark in Chicago offers a variety of classes, including Hike and Box N Bolt. The first is a treadmill class that takes participants through a series of intense climbs with some inclines approaching 30%. The second combines running and boxing drills to give participants a mix of upper-body strengthening and cardio.

Stay fit during pregnancy with Pregnancy Yoga and Pregnancy Pilates at Oh Baby! Fitness® in Decatur, Georgia. The former teaches moms-to-be to relax and breathe while also stretching and challenging their bodies. The latter helps strengthen the pelvic floor and abdominal muscles through modified Pilates movements.
