2019 IDEA® World Scholarship Recipients

Meet the well-deserving winners of our IDEA World Scholarship.

Retired IDEA co-founders Peter and Kathie Davis (far left and far right) celebrated the 2019 recipients of the IDEA World Scholarship.

In rising to meet major challenges and needs—from overcoming cancer, a staph infection and even a four-story fall inside an elevator, to serving reservation residents and low-income individuals in high-crime neighborhoods—the 2019 IDEA World Scholarship recipients have shown character, determination and a commitment to helping others. In partnership with the American Council on Exercise, IDEA co-founders Kathie and Peter Davis established the IDEA World Scholarship Fund to provide five deserving recipients who have never attended the event with full registration and financial assistance for related expenses.

The Fund’s purpose is to provide a unique career advancement opportunity for recipients to learn from top industry thought leaders, to become more effective at impacting individuals and communities nationwide, and to network with colleagues.

“We’re so happy to be able to send five deserving fitness professionals to the IDEA World Convention,” said Kathie Davis. “We had over 600 applications this year, so it was very difficult to choose. These fitness pros all had amazing stories about how they are changing lives through health and fitness in their communities.”

Congratulations go to this year’s recipients (pictured above with Peter and Kathie, from left):

  • Brittany Artigues, Centreville, Maryland
  • Carrie Lynn “Mimi” Grayson, Georgetown, Texas
  • Lee Milne, Mesa, Arizona
  • Lakeshia Allen, Richmond, Virginia
  • Martin Parker, Box Elder, Montana
