Those individuals possessing superior ability understand that when they fuel their bodies can give them an extra competitive edge and that each sport requires different timing needs. This presentation will dive into nutrient timing tactics used to aid in performance enhancements for various athletes. It will cover both endurance and strength-based sports and go into detail about the different protocols that are commonly used pre-, peri-, and post-training to increase performance and enhance recovery. This presentation will also outline the necessity of each nutrient timing tactic and rate the importance of each one depending on the type of athlete.

The pandemic has been tough—especially for fitness and training studios. But for those who are still standing, it has served as an opportunity to make bold moves that can build a more resilient business that will sustain and thrive in the years to come.

A truly resilient training studio has these essential building blocks in place: 1) An owner or business manager with the mindset and skills to run a successful business; 2) A business model designed to make a healthy profit (including paying yourself what you deserve), and not just scrape by; and 3) A team strategically built for the long-haul, rather than just hiring any decent trainer you can find.

A careful game plan to tackle these areas will lay the building blocks to a more sustainable, resilient studio. And that is exactly what this workshop will give you. You will leave with a detailed and realistic action plan of how to grow and improve your specific business in each of these three key areas.

So, if you are a studio owner, looking to build a successful studio that can weather storms and give you the life you desire, this course was designed specifically for you!

Props, props, props! Clients love props, and when you incorporate them into a lively, music-inspired barre class, they not only provide a fun and intense challenge, but ensure target muscles are firing effectively, and clients are getting the desired results. This 4-hour workshop, developed by the Merrithew™ team, follows the 11-segment, 1-hour class template, introduced in the Total Barre Foundation Course. Learn unique, energetic choreography coupled with effective cues to reinforce safe biomechanics for each movement of the workout. The added resistance of a Flex-Band®, and ankle tubing effectively activates stabilizing and mobilizing muscles, and the addition of the Mini Stability Ball™ provides both support and challenge. This workout, choreographed to a great selection of music, is a wonderful addition to your barre program.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn how to apply the comprehensive alignment principles and concepts used in all Total Barre programs.
  • Understand how to use the 11-Segment template to provide choreography and tempo for a one hour
  • Discover how key movement segments are broken down in detail in order to learn how to cue for safe, optimal biomechanics.
  • Explore how to work with music, phrasing and counting as well as teaching strategies, exercise variations and modifications to ensure classes are safe and effective for all participants.
