This session will discuss new perspectives on working with older adults that include starting early on healthy aging practices (not gaining is losing) and focusing on fun, mentally engaging exercises that maintain functional status (not losing is gaining). Demonstrations of exercises will be given for different functional categories. This session will teach attendees the "why and how" exercise counters age-related declines, but also the "what and which" exercise to program for different individuals. Regression and progression examples will be given. See how you can use mentally engaging exercises that dial up the fun factor while enhancing neural plasticity.
