The Bill is titled the “Omnibus Health Regulation Amendment Act of 2013″. It was passed into law in February of 2014.

I just read the bill which is a little thin on details to really pass judgement. The one line stood out for me:
“The law will require all personal trainers providing service in that jurisdiction to register with the D.C. Mayor’s Office for a yet undetermined fee and pursuant to a yet unspecified procedure.”
While I applaud the effort to have some regulation, it is really too soon to say unless that ‘unspecified procedure’ has been determined. I hope it is more than just a money maker for the city of Washington, DC.
