yoga certification
I offer a training for a Christian mind-body exercise called Keola® that offers 4.2 ACE CEC’s for this first 60 hour class, which I’m told can be petitioned for AFAA. The course is similar to a 200 RYT, split into trimesters. Trimester I: Foundation covers 35+ poses (yoga and pilates mix) with full A&P, teaching methodology, techniques and training/practice, as well as meditation, Christ-based nutrition, and discipleship training for integration and motivation in your students. Upcoming training in the Fall. If you are interested and aren’t in the area, we are working on offering trainee participation via live internet connection and also travel for larger group interest. Upon completion of Trimester 1, you are equipped to begin teaching. Here’s a link with more information.

YogaFit is a really great yoga certification for those who have a group exercise or exercise physiology background. The way they explain how and why the poses are the way they are (with safety cues, alignment, etc.) really makes sense biomechanically and based off of exercise physiology principles. I would highly recommend this certification.
Yogafit is the only program that offers CEU’s. It is pretty good. I got my 200 hours through them, and the nice thing is that I was able to use every training towards keeping my ACE Group Fitness Cert. You can get CEU’s for AFAA, but you have to petition for them. There was some issue with AFAA and Yogafit, but I can’t remember what exactly happened.
Hope this helps 🙂
