Will I get fit continuing this? Or what should I change?
Ok so I have been trying to burn body fat and get totally lean for a while now and I’m getting somewhat impatient with wanting results.I am 20 year old male, 5’9 about 160 pounds but I have extra body fat mostly BELLY FAT that I want to shed so I can have abs. If I stick to this plan will I get lean and toned?
I only eat 1-2 times per day at around 5-8 p.m. because my medicine reduces appetite in the morning.
I’m going to start eating an organic lean piece of either chicken, pork, or sometimes salmon, stuff like that. Also some cooked broccoli with a small amount of cheese, and some fruit and a few nuts.
Is this a good or bad diet? I don’t over eat any portions. I only drink water.
Also I run on an elliptical about 4 times a week, sometimes 3 for about a half hour usually running about 3.25 miles (says it about 375 calories burned) . I shoot hoops sometimes but very low intensity. I was lifting but I kind of fell off of that temporarily but thinking about starting back up again.
Is this a good workout?
Overall, should I continue doing what I’m doing? Or what should I change? Any help is appreciated very much!! Thank you!!
I have always only ate about 2 meals per day because my medication suppresses my appetite until about 5 p.m. so I’m not really sure what to do about that
Hi John,
According to the information you have provided, I have to agree with Susan. You need to consult with your doctor and also talk to a dietitian. You can try joining a local YMCA if you can, because they have some training programs which you do for free. I’m sorry I can’t help you more, but since you have a medical condition it will be best to have someone close to you help you with your training and diet.
Best,
Harris
Hi John,
you have mentioned a few times that your medication suppresses your appetite to the point that you want to eat no sooner than 5 PM. While there are currently some fasting diet plans that suggest that kind of eating, I personally do not consider this healthy because it deprives your body of the steady supply of nutrients necessary for daily living.
On the assumption that your medication is necessary and cannot change, I would ask for a referral to a Registered Dietitian who may be able to help you establish a good eating plan and who may have some suggestions on how to navigate this lack of desire to eat for most of the day.
3 or 4 cardio workouts of 30 minutes per week and some lazy hoops do not strike me as very energetic. But given your eating patterns, you may not have the energy to do much more.
I would suggest to add at least two weight workouts to your routine if it is compatible with whatever causes you to require medication.
I wish you good luck.

I agree with Karin and would suggest you speak to your physician who has prescribed your medication regarding this side effect. Many physicians have suggestions on how you can overcome this side effect to get proper nutrition through out the day. Or they can recommend a registered dietictian who can work with you on this issue.
Good luck on your journey,
Jocelyn
