Why isnt my certification verified?
When did you enter your certification? It normally takes a few days to verify your certification. Some certifications can not be verified (especially those that are not NCCA accredited). If your certification is still not verified with a week or so i would contact the webmaster at [email protected]
AFAA is in the process of completing the construction of its own web directory that is in conjunction with the Biggest Loser television show. As such, AFAA certified professionals who have been verified by AFAA and choose to become Biggest Loser Pros, will be able to leverage the power of the show and earn fees from AFAA to conduct online sessions with clients. In addition, the Biggest Loser Pros will be authorized to conduct Biggest Loser Live Training sessions at local clubs and change the lives of millions of people who need help to lose weight safely and effectively.
With respect to the question of accreditation, the following link will take you to a letter posted on the president of AFAA’s blog that will help clarify AFAA’s decision to select the DETC over NCCA — both of which are considered equivalent by IHRSA.

Hello Theresa,
Here is a copy of a letter sent to AFAA thise week:
Dear AFAA,
I have been proudly certified with AFAA for many years and also previously with ACE.
I am writing this letter after reading AFAA’s company profile and mission statement.
Two AFAA “Goals” particularly stood out to me:
*Collaborate with public and private industries on the development of programs and services to increase the awareness of fitness education and its benefits to individuals and communities;
*Network with other industry organizations to advance the knowledge of fitness education and professional practices by initiating and disseminating research findings.
As AFAA has collaborated with DETC, CHEA, NBFE and ICE, I asked myself why AFAA has yet to become affiliated and a verified partner with IDEA’s FitnessConnect.
Noticeably 100 other agencies have been verified and partnered with IDEA’s FitnessConnect like:
ACE, NASM, ACSM, NETA and NFPT just to name a few.
As you know, with over 250,000 of the nation’s top certified trainers and instructors, IDEA FitnessConnect links us to millions of consumers online for free. (The largest free online directory).

I see that AFAA has a home page with IDEA FitnessConnect however, I am confused as to why “agency unavailable” displays next to my AFAA certification on my IDEA FitnessConnect home page for over two years.

Can we finally get AFAA as a “Verification Partner” with IDEA FitnessConnect as well as “DETC Accredited Certification” and “NBFE Accredited Certifications” icons displayed on our IDEA home page next to our AFFA certification?
Sincerely,
Michael Saiz

I would suggest contacting AFAA with your concerns as well.
I Hope This Helps!
Michael
