It sounds as though you are making progress if your clothes fit better/larger. Do not worry about the number on the scale, that will come in due time. You are building muscle which weighs more than the fat you are losing. Slow and steady wins the race.
To make sure you are not hurting yourself while getting results, I would work with a personal trainer and/or registered dietitian until you are ready to work on your own, again. I cannot emphasize a balanced exercise and eating plan enough. Remember that you also need proper rest.
