I’m halfway through the Precision Nutrition certification. The first half focused on the big picture of nutrition (macros, micros, hydration, etc). The next half of the course (which I’m most excited for) focuses on coaching. What makes a great coach, how to implement coaching, working with certain clients. Loving it so far and can see how it will be beneficial to me in the future.
I have both the ACE Health Coach certification and the ACE personal trainer certification and have been very happy with them both. They compliment each other very well. Most of my work is personal training, but I do offer health coaching as a separate package and have been very happy with what I’ve learned from ACE. I do consider it just skimming the top of the education for health coaching however, and know there are more in depth programs and degrees in this area.
As a side note, I’ve also heard good things about Wellcoaches.
