Which are the highest Paying gyms in San Diego?
Hi Ken,
Are you interested in working as an employee at a gym, or finding a studio where you contract/rent space?
As a San Diego native, I don’t know of many gyms that pay a lot of money their trainers (this is based on friends who are trainers at corporate gyms). I think the going rate (depending on your experience and that’s in “their” eyes) is between $14-$25 per hour, although I now that some are offering 30-minute sessions.
I believe many corporate gyms now ask their personal trainers to sign an exclusive contract that you can’t train outside of their facility, nor try to get their clients to move (I know this is true at 24hr Fitness), and this is of course to protect their business.
As a seasoned trainer, your best bet would be to find a gym that you can contract at, where they provide the opportunity for you to engage with their members (and start training them), paying a percentage or flat fee, while also building your outside business as an Outdoor/Mobile Fitness Professional (our weather is 99% perfect for outdoor training)!
– Cheers to Life, I wish you much success and welcome to San Diego (America’s Finest City)!
– Fitfully yours,
Lisa
