Where is the least expensive place to purchase Equipt for my Bootcamp? ex. glider disks, mats, dumbells TRX-like etc
Hi Bella, I agree with everyone above. I buy from Play It again and Perform Better as well as several other catalog companies and eBay, Craigslist, etc. Here’s another trick of the trade. Many independent equipment stores (not Big 5 orr Sports Authority which typically don’t sell the equipment I want anyway, I’m talking an independent gym equipment store)will provide a discount to you as a trainer, just ask. There are several equipment stores in my area of California. I get 10% discount right off the top of all of my purchases. If that doesn’t work. Go to Ideafit World Conference! You’ll find the biggest selection of vendors IDEAfit’s World conference. Since I go to the conference every year, if there is product that I know I can’t find on eBay, Craigslist or Play It Again, and want a bigger discount, I wait for Ideafit and stock up while at the conference. Vendors offer amazing deals and many, free shipping. The first year, I didn’t know this, but the second, I was sure to save for it. And now, it’s just a part of my annual budgeting process. Another tip- Vendor’s not only will offer great deals on equipment at IdeaFit World conference, but for those that offer their own cert (i.e. TRX, Stott Pilates, etc.) They’ll often offer great deals if you sign up for a Cert while there. My wife, my business partner, but not a trainer, goes and spends all of her time at the conference talking with Vendors about what’s new, what they offer and taking the free classes. Props to ideafit, cause this marketplace is the best I’ve seen in this industry.
Hi Bella,
In addition to Power Systems and Perform Better, there is a place called Play it Again Sports.
They carry both new and used equipment, and I’ve a few things from inexpensive barbells and plates to kettlebells and dumbells. Looks like there are a few in NJ so perhaps there is one near you.
Good luck.
Christine
Hi Bella,
I would also add Perform Better (www.performbetter.com) to the list. You can always check on Amazon.com and Craigslist for more options. For gliders I like to use furniture sliders which you can buy them from a local hardware store for very low price. Also, Wal-Mart carries some equipment as well and in a low price.
Best,
Harris
I’m not sure about the least expensive, but I do most of my ordering through Power Systems.
With my classes, because the equipment is being used so often, I always opt for quality over price. I need to know the equipment is going to last through lots of sessions and not crap out of break.
I’ve had excellent experience with them.
