where is the best place to buy music for group fitness classes?
no suggestion on where to buy, just a comment.
When I do classes, I coordinate program & music. I don’t keep it all one temp 128 beats or whatever…
The program & music support each other. How many time do you hit skip on your player while working out if you use music. Class goers don’t have that same option do they?
Unless the class is very general in nature I suggest using music according to the regular demographic @ that time of day. If you are well received by the class try something new(use beats that drive the You to move). Its instinctual the emotion to music that is…
Play and have fun, everything WILL NEVER suite everyone
Check out clickmix.com – they carry a lot of the tracks from dynamix and powermusic, as well as their own. You can buy individual tracks and they will mix them into a custom, seamless mix for you. Get exactly what you want instead of settling. I am a 100% satisfied customer for them. I’ve used them for probably 80% of my class music. They charge $1.99 a track and have controls for tempo and mixing so you can flow between tracks. It’s really a great service.
Also, check out DJ KJ’s free podcast on iTunes. He also sells fitness mixes on his website, but he gives away a lot of his mixes free in his 60 minute uninterrupted mixes through his podcasts. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/dj-kj-podcast/id548458764
Also Studio rat music (www.studioratmusic.com) will make one off custom mixes for you. It’s not cheap, but if you want something custom (a mash-up maybe) this is the place to go. This is where all the competitive dance recital teams and cheerleader squads go to get their custom competition tracks.
I also have bought from power music…. probably my favorite
and from muscle mixes:
and from dynamix:
It is so much easier now to do it all online. Most sites let you mix and match the songs you like, and sometimes change bpm.
On a related note, NPR did a really interesting series on workout mixes… not ones you would use as a professional, but a really interesting listen:

Hi Maria,
There are a couple different places out there. www.cardiomixes.com, www.powermusic.com, and www.moveya.com are a few more to choose from.
Have fun!
