Is this the place you are talking about?
Did they create the idea of combining yoga and body sculpt? No, some of us were trying out various hybrids as far back as the late 90s. However, this way of working is their own, and they do seem to be a major player in marketing this style of teaching.
The thing is this whole area is very fluid. If you wanted a cert. in personal training you could point to a handful of really good programs. You could also get ‘smaller’ certs in a wide variety of variations on a theme. Lots of people do creative things with their classes…. some of those variations catch on and then a new type of cert grows out of that. Kind of like step aerobics grew out of aerobics. There are lots of ways to use and remix what you have. The question is: do you get a strong foundation of knowledge as a personal trainer, or group ex trainer, and a strong foundation of knowledge of yoga, and then combine them to create a hybrid, or do you go to someone who has put it all together already. Kind of like, do you buy a premade chicken dinner, or cook it yourself?
If you already have yoga and fitness and really understand the principles you may not need the seperate cert. Otherwise I do not know of one single place that offers a hybrid that is a stand out, but then, I am a buy your own chicken kind of person.
