Yes there certainly is a Tai Chi certification.
The Tai Chi Certification from American Tai Chi and Qigong Association independently accredits Tai Chi teachers, schools and practitioners of any style, program, lineage or application. Bear in mind you need to complete over 100 documented hours of formal instruction and it does not automatically qualify you for the ATCQA Certification. The decision will also depend on the credential of the organization(s) from which you received Tai Chi training.

You got me thinking. I want to learn this as well, so thanks. I know the Arthritis Foundation has an intructor program. i am looking into this with them tomorrow in Los Angeles. Check your local office or go to www.arthritis.org.
All the best
If you have no defininte Tai Chi experience, I suggest that you do some research on David Dorian-Ross.
I do not believe, as far as I know, that there is really any bona fide Tai Chi Certification in the U.S.
