What’s your favorite healthy eating app and how does it work? For travel? For grocery shopping?
Hi Beverly,
I’ve been playing with a few different apps lately, and one of them is Fooducate. Free app which allows you to scan the barcode of an item and gives a nutritional guide. Great for grocery shopping.
I also sometimes use Nutrionix which gives restaurant menu items and calorie listings. This one is great when going out to eat or for travel.
I also like MyFitnessPal and use that one quite a bit for everyday use and tracking meals.
A new one I haven’t had the chance to look into yet is a free app called True Food. It’s supposed to give you information on whether or not the food contains genetically modified ingredients.
Interesting and valuable topic…so thanks for posting.
Christine
For grocery shopping my new favorite is Fooducate! You can scan any barcode (or enter manually) and it pops up with a health grade (A+ to D-) along with why it got its rating based on things like sugar content, fiber, highly or minimally processed and so on. It also gives alternatives. It’s free, too!
