What’s the best way to keep a high paying client for the long run? Even after you guys have had the success together.
Whether they are high paying or not, I keep my clients by constantly changing things up.
They never get bored, they always get a different workout, they keep stimulated and always wonder what’s next?
I have also found that keeping a client because they are high paying isn’t always the best motivator (for me). My intent is to train my best, regardless of their status.
I agree with Sue. It doesn’t matter if he/she is a high paying client or not.
Keep things challenging and interesting all the time. Never let them think that because they’ve reached their current goals, it doesn’t mean there are not new and better ones to achieve. You could get them interested in joining some type of race and your part would be to help them train for it so they can perform the at their best. You could also offer to do the race or event with them, so they feel like they have a buddy to depend on or be accountable to. This has worked really well for me.
Good luck!

Hi Gabori,
I’m going to take the approach of just considering the retention part (and not how much they pay). I agree with Sue and Harris that you will want to keep the client challenged and interested by mixing things up a bit so they don’t hit a plateau. It definitely helps to keep them motivated. However, you will also want to keep some things the same to show continuous improvement and progress. Clients can stay motivated when they see how far they’ve progressed. They will want to renew with you if they are getting what they need from the sessions–whether that is a great, tough workout, accountability, or training for a big race.
Once you’ve succeeded, the next thing you can do is establish a new set of goals to keep them motivated. In addition, it important that you make a connection with that client. Clients know if you have their best interests at heart.
Good luck to you.
Christine
Thank you for explaining better or rephrasing your question. Here are a few ideas/suggestions for you:
-I would give this client some free sessions when possible
-Maybe he/she could bring a friend of a family member every now and then for support and more fun
-If he/she has few friends who would be interested in trying out your services then there a couple of options you could consider: 1)Give your client free sessions for every client he/she refers you to and sign up, 2) Make him/her the ring leader if you can start boot camp classes and he/she brings you a number of clients that would be interested to sign up for and in return let him/het to train either for free or with a deep discount as long as he/she does the leg work and promotes your class and spreads the word.
Usually wealthy people like to socialize with other wealthy people and this can be a great benefit to you. I hope this helps.
Best,
Harris
